Our Chemical Peel Process
Step 1
Arrive on Time
We prefer that you arrive on time for your appointment so we can ensure you can enjoy every part of the peel experience. You are able to fill out most required forms online when you book your appointment, so if you book online, you should not have to arrive early for paperwork.
Step 2
Relax & Enjoy
Trust that you are in the hands of an experienced member of our esthetician team, and just take this time to enjoy the peel process. You’ll have anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to sit back, relax, and enjoy the pampering from your chemical peel in Sewickley while we play some gentle, relaxing music.
Step 3
Leave Refreshed
You won’t be able to see the results of your chemical peel immediately, but you’ll slowly see improvements over 2–3 weeks. And if you love your peel results, always feel free to reschedule! You can request the same esthetician if you’d like, but no matter what kind of peel you get, know you’ll be with a skilled Your Skin Prescription team member.
How to Prep for Your Peel
Avoid sunbathing or tanning beds
Sunburned skin will already be too irritated for a chemical peel, so avoid any sun damage 1 week before your appointment.
Don’t over-exfoliate
A chemical peel will exfoliate your skin, so exfoliating 1 week before your peel may cause damage.
Don’t have another treatment
While we understand we have plenty of amazing treatment options, peels irritate your skin, and having other treatments done 2 weeks before your peel could cause skin damage.
How to Get the Most From Your Peel
Avoid using heavy makeup
Makeup and makeup applicators can contain a lot of bacteria, and they can cause irritation and acne to your newly sensitive skin.
Avoid excessive sweating
Avoid the gym or the sauna—your peel will open up your pores, and sweating will only allow more bacteria into those pores, causing acne and irritation.
Don’t pick at your skin
You shouldn’t do this anyway, but your skin is extra sensitive after a chemical peel and picking at it could cause irritation or even scarring.
Constant Care for Constant Beauty
With either our “No Filter Needed” or “My Favorite Things” memberships, you’ll be able to receive quality care from your favorite med spa at discounted prices!

Did You Know…
Early records show that chemical peels were first used by ancient Egyptians when women used to apply sour milk to their skin. This sour milk contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, which rejuvenates the skin.
