Benefits of Dermal Fillers in Sewickley
Long-Term Results
While dermal fillers are not permanent, their results are long-lasting. Depending on the brand and placement, some dermal fillers can last up to 18 months or more!
Highly Customizable
Whether you are someone with mild to moderate volume loss or have severe wrinkles or folds, dermal fillers provide solutions for a wide variety of needs.
Minimally Invasive
Oftentimes, people assume they need surgery to correct their concerns. Dermal fillers can be a great nonsurgical alternative for those whose conditions are not severe.

Our Dermal Filler Process
Step 1
Arrive on Time
We prefer that you arrive on time for your appointment so we can ensure you can enjoy every part of the filler experience. You are able to fill out most required forms online when you book your appointment, so if you book online, you should not have to arrive early for paperwork.
Step 2
Relax & Enjoy
Trust that you are in the hands of an experienced member of our team, and just take this time to enjoy the process. You’ll have anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to sit back, relax, and enjoy the process of your dermal filler in Sewickley while we play some gentle, relaxing music.
Step 3
Leave Refreshed
You will be able to see the results of your fillers immediately, and the results will last for months. Depending on the type of filler and areas of treatment, we may ask you to schedule a follow-up appointment for additional sessions. You’ll be able to request the same injector if you’d like, but no matter what kind of fillers you get, know you’ll be with a skilled Your Skin Prescription team member.
How to Prep for Dermal Fillers
Avoid Blood Thinners
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for at least a week prior to your appointment. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, garlic supplements, vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, and omega-3 or fish oil capsules. As always, if you are taking any of these medications under direction of a doctor, speak to him or her before discontinuing use.
Inform Us
Inform us if you have a history of cold sores or perioral herpes before your appointment.
Avoid These Products
Stop using topical skin products that contain retinol, glycolic acid, alpha-hydroxy acid, or “anti-aging” products at least 2 days before (and after) your fillers are injected.
No Alcohol
Refrain from drinking alcohol in the 24 hours before your appointment.
How to Get the Most From Dermal Fillers
No Touching/Massaging
Avoid touching or massaging the injection site(s) unless instructed by your specialist.
No Strenuous Activity
Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours.
Avoid Sun Exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure or excessive heat for 72 hours.
No Alcohol or Excess Salt
Avoid alcohol and excess salt to prevent swelling.
Use a Cold-Compress
Use a cold-compress if you experience swelling.
Sleep Face-Up
Sleep face-up and slightly elevate your head for 1 to 2 days to reduce swelling.

Did You Know…
Dermal fillers made their debut in the 1970s when various animal collagens had been researched and tested enough to use on humans—specifically Bovine (cow) collagen.
